Explore Ffos Las

Fun on the Carmarthenshire Coast

Ffos Las is proudly, unmistakably Welsh - set on reclaimed coalfield land in Carmarthenshire, between Llanelli and Carmarthen. Since opening in 2009, it's become known as one of the newest and most modern racecourses in Britain, offering wide, galloping racing within easy reach of some of South Wales' best coastline and countryside.

Racing on Reclaimed Ground

Built on the site of a former opencast coal mine, Ffos Las is a rare thing - a racecourse purpose-designed from scratch rather than shaped by centuries of history. The result is a spacious, left-handed circuit with a stiff uphill finish, hosting both Flat and jump racing through the year. It's a young track with a fast-growing reputation, and a genuinely different story to tell compared to Britain's older, more traditional courses.
